Our emotions regulate how we think, feel, and act. They have a powerful and meaningful effect on us both physically and mentally. Sometimes those feelings can overwhelm, leaving you feeling stressed, anxious, out of control, or worse.
Why does this happen?
This happens because when you feel anxious your brain triggered off the flight, fright, freeze response. Flooding the body with stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline. Those worries could be about your health, relationships, or money. Quite frankly your brain doesn’t care. Our brain always reacts in the same way regardless of the worry because it cannot tell the difference between what is real and what is imaginary. Consequently, where the brain goes the body will follow.
How can hypnotherapy help you?
Hypnotherapy is a state of focused attention and low emotional arousal. It most resembles the daydream state. When you are in this deep mental state of relaxation, the tendency to judge and monitor unhelpful thoughts are diminished. Those changes you want to make can then be made on a subconscious level without the conscious brain interfering.
Stress levels naturally lower while in hypnosis, so a chain of wonderful knock-on effects starts to happen. For example, Sleep patterns regulate which helps with our overall mental wellbeing. Now you have more energy to do the things you enjoy. When you do the things you enjoy life starts to look different. As a result of hypnotherapy, my clients are often surprised by little things they start to notice which have a ripple effect on their world.
